This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Turn of the Century Black Day Dress
From the seller:
A fetching 1890’s black and white cotton print dress that has recently been de-accessioned from a museum collection. The cataloging tags are stitched inside the bodice. The fabric has a swirl pattern design. The front of the bodice has a black silk chiffon high neck insert. The sleeve cuffs are trimmed with silk chiffon. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a front hook and eye closure. The skirt is lined with cotton. The dress is in very good condition. There is very slight underarm discoloration. There are no holes or splits in the fabrics. Bust 34 Waist 28 Skirt length 40.
From Me:
Based on the pigeon front bodice and the sleeves, I'm saying 1900's for this outfit.
